Bureau of Operations and Patrol Services

The Bureau of Operations and Patrol Services is the backbone of the Abington Police Department, dedicated to safeguarding the community through proactive crime prevention, rapid emergency response, and maintaining public order.

Comprising two essential divisions—the Patrol Division and the Detective Division—the Bureau plays a vital role in both immediate and long-term public safety. These divisions work in tandem to deliver effective law enforcement, provide exceptional service to the residents of Abington, and address a wide array of public safety issues.

In addition to these divisions, the Bureau also oversees several key functions, including Communications, Traffic Safety and Enforcement, Community Affairs and Special Events, and Animal Control. Together, these areas of responsibility ensure a comprehensive approach to law enforcement and community service.
