Veteran Employment Services

Looking for a new job can be incredibly challenging, overwhelming, and stressful. Don’t worry because the Veterans Administration and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts are here to help you through each step as you find your next job, pursue your passions, and achieve your dreams.

The Federal Government with its website, Jobs 2 Careers website and the VA with jobs with the VA at vaforvets.va.gov offers assistance.

The state provides job and career assistance for Veterans located through MassHire.  They will provide an employment representative who will help you organize your job search, work with you to design your own personal employment plan, create a comprehensive and flexible way to help you manage your job search, assist you with writing your resume and help you to develop your job leads.

Services to Veterans include counseling, testing, and identifying training and employment opportunities, monitoring federal job listings to see that eligible veterans get priority referrals. They also promote participation in federally-funded employment and training programs and work with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to identify Veterans who need work-specific prosthetic devices, sensory aids or other special equipment. They will also contact community leaders, employers, unions, training programs, and veterans' service organizations to be sure eligible veterans get the services to which they are entitled and refer you to other programs that could assist you.
