Community Preservation

Overview

The Community Preservation Committee is responsible for performing an annual needs study of the possibilities and resources of the Town regarding community preservation and making recommendations at Town Meeting for how the Town's Community Preservation Act (CPA) money should be spent. CPA is a local property tax surcharge of up to 3% which can be used for open space protection, historic preservation, and affordable housing.

The CPC is now accepting project applications for FY 26! 

  • Step 1: Complete Phase I - Project Eligibility (Deadline: 10/29)

  • Step 2: Complete Phase II - Application for Funding (Deadline: 12/17)

  • Step 3: CPC Vote

  • Step 4: Town Meeting Vote

  • Step 5: Funding Available July 1, 2025

We want to hear from you! The CPC will be hosting a meeting on 2/4 @ 6 pm to discuss the proposed projects for FY26 before the committee votes on final recommendations.
