The purpose of the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Zoning Bylaws is to promote the health, safety, morals, convenience and general welfare of the inhabitants of Abington; to lessen the danger from fire and congestion and from the hazards of flood water inundation; to conserve health; to secure safety from fire, panic and other dangers; to provide adequate light and air; to protect and conserve the value of property; to prevent overcrowding of land; to avoid undue concentration of population; to preserve and increase the amenities of the Town; to conserve natural conditions; to facilitate the adequate provisions of transportation, water, sewage, schools, parks, and other requirements; and to improve and beautify the Town by encouraging the most appropriate uses of land within the Town under the provisions of Chapter 40 A of the General Laws as amended.  (§175.2)
