Zoning Board of Appeals

Overview
The purpose of the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Zoning Bylaws is to promote the health, safety, morals, convenience and general welfare of the inhabitants of Abington; to lessen the danger from fire and congestion and from the hazards of flood water inundation; to conserve health; to secure safety from fire, panic and other dangers; to provide adequate light and air; to protect and conserve the value of property; to prevent overcrowding of land; to avoid undue concentration of population; to preserve and increase the amenities of the Town; to conserve natural conditions; to facilitate the adequate provisions of transportation, water, sewage, schools, parks, and other requirements; and to improve and beautify the Town by encouraging the most appropriate uses of land within the Town under the provisions of Chapter 40 A of the General Laws as amended.
