Early/Absentee Voting Now Available

Absentee ballots for the Special Town Election to be held on Saturday October 21st, 2023, are now available. 

Voters who will be absent from the Town on election day during the polling hours and those who are unable to vote in person may vote absentee or early. Applications are available in the Town Clerks Office or online at www.sec.state.ma.us

Elections in Massachusetts, voters can choose whether they would prefer to vote in person or by mail.

No-excuse early voting by mail is available in all state elections, state primaries, presidential primaries, and most local elections. These ballots are known as “Vote by Mail” ballots and can be requested using the Vote by Mail Application.

While early Vote by Mail ballots are more common, there are special circumstances where you may need to use the Absentee Ballot application to apply for an absentee ballot instead.

Further, any written request with your signature is an acceptable application. You can simply write a signed letter to the Town Clerks office to apply for your ballot.

Application Deadlines

You may vote absentee/early in the Town Clerks office till noon on Friday, October 20th, 2023.

Any mail-in ballot must be requested in writing by 5 p.m. on Monday, October 16th, 2023, the 5th business day before the election. Your application can only be accepted if it has reached the Town Clerks office by the deadline.

Office hours are M-Thursday 8:30-4:30 and Friday 8:30-12:30.

The polling hours on Election Day are 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM., All precincts vote at the Beaver Brook Elementary School 1 Ralph Hamlin Jr. Way.
