Town Elections: How to vote

Abington’s Annual Town Elections include elections for the following positions:

  • Board of Assessor

  • Board of Public Health

  • Board of Sewer Commissioners

  • Board of Selectman

  • School Committee

  • Library Board of Trustees

  • Planning Board

  • Water Commissioners

  • Housing Authority

Sample Ballot

In-Person on Election Day: 

Vote on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at the Beaver Brook Elementary School. Polls open at 8AM and close at 6PM.

By Mail:

The residents who requested to be mailed all 2024 election ballots, through the Secretary of State’s postcard in January, will receive their Town Election Ballots during the weeks of April 8th and 15th.

  Vote by Mail ballots can be returned by:

Mailing it back using the envelope provided

Returning to Town Clerk's Office

Using the ballot box located at Town Hall

In- Person Early Voting:

Any registered voter in Abington can vote in-person at the Town Clerk's office at Town Hall during early voting hours which are April 8 -26, Monday - Thursday from 8:30AM - 4:30PM and Friday 8:30AM - 12:30PM.

Absentee Voting

Excuse-required absentee voting by mail is available in all elections, to those who qualify. While early Vote by Mail ballots are more common, there are special circumstances where you may need to use the Absentee Ballot application to apply for an absentee ballot instead such as being on active military duty or a US citizen living outside of the U.S.  Learn more about this process and if you qualify.
