The Town of Abington relies on volunteer boards and committees to help create policies and make an impact on the town.

Abington currently has 20+ boards with their focuses ranging from nature to housing and more!

Many of these boards are comprised of appointed members, while others are elected. Please consider applying for one of the many appointed positions with expiring terms or vacant positions as of June 30, 2024. Your passion, expertise, and enthusiasm go a long way and help the Town of Abington better serve its residents.

Volunteer Board Application Process

  1. Fill out an application online or in person at the Town Manager’s office

  2. Appropriate board/committee or town manager, depending on appointing authority reviews applications

  3. If there are multiple applicants, the appointing authority may ask applicants to attend a meeting to discuss their interest in serving on the board/committee.

  4. The appointing authority makes the final decision and the resident is notified in person (if at the meeting), by email or phone.
