Volunteer Board and Committee Vacancies

Throughout the year, vacancies on Town boards and committees become available for a variety of reasons such as term expirations and resignations. Abington's Town Hall form of government relies on volunteer boards and committees to help create policies and guide the Town.

As of February, there are 11 available volunteer positions open. If you are interested in using your expertise and enthusiasm on a board please fill out an application online or in person at the Town Manager's office at Town Hall.

Volunteer Board Application Process

  1. Fill out an application online or in person at the Town Manager’s office

  2. Appropriate board/committee or town manager, depending on appointing authority reviews applications

  3. If there are multiple applicants, the appointing authority may ask applicants to attend a meeting to discuss their interest in serving on the board/committee.

  4. The appointing authority makes the final decision and the resident is notified in person (if at the meeting), by email or phone.
