Virtual Public Information Meeting
Abington – Route 139 at Chestnut Street & Old Randolph Street
What is happening?
The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with the opportunity to become fully acquainted with the proposed Route 139 at Chestnut Street Intersection Improvements project In Abington, MA. All views and comments submitted in response to the meeting will be reviewed and considered to the maximum extent possible.
How will this affect you?
The proposed project consists of a Complete Street design that is context-sensitive and compatible with local planning initiatives. Buffered bicycle lanes and sidewalks are proposed on both sides of Route 139 and the western side of Chestnut Street. A separated shared use path is proposed on the eastern side of Chestnut Street and the northeast corner of Route 139 and Old Randolph Street. Bike lanes and sidewalks are proposed on both sides of Old Randolph Street.
This project will provide a multimodal connection to Woodsdale Elementary School and Laidler Field as well as enhance traffic safety and operations with new traffic signals and turn lanes.
