Shooting Investigation
On Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 at approximately 11:26 PM, the Abington Police Department responded to reports of multiple gunshots in the area of 40-60 Elm Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke with several witnesses who observed or heard the incident. The roadway was temporarily closed while officers canvassed the area.
During the investigation, officers discovered seven shell casings at the scene, along with damage to two parked unoccupied vehicles from the discharged rounds.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of the shooting. The suspected vehicles involved were described as two sedans traveling in the wrong direction on Elm Street; however, specific make, model and color information remains unknown at this time.
The Abington Police Department is actively investigating this incident and seeking the public's assistance. Anyone in the area of Elm Street or Brockton Avenue is urged to check security cameras or report suspicious events around that time frame to the Abington Police Department at 781-878-3232.
