In the weeks that followed, the Abington Police Department conducted a thorough investigation, which included obtaining multiple search warrants from telecommunication providers at
Brockton District Court. The investigation, spanning several months, also involved the seizure of an electronic device and digital forensics performed by the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office
High-Tech Evidence Analysis Team (HEAT). The forensic analysis identified the juvenile responsible for the threatening call, which triggered unnecessary emergency responses. It was later confirmed that the juvenile suspect was not a member of the Abington Public Schools.
