Abington's Garden Club is hosting its annual plant sale on Saturday, May 25 from 9AM - 2PM at the United Church of Christ located at 10 Bedford Street (Route 18). There will be annuals, perennials, herbs, and vegetables for sale. The event will also include a raffle, bake sale, and garden treasures! Process will benefit Abington Garden's Club Civic Beautification Project.

The Assessing Department visits properties and businesses throughout the entire year, but the spring & summer are our busiest times! We visit properties for different reasons: a building permit was pulled recently, the property was recently sold, or by a random selection of properties we haven't seen in a while. The election will be held on Saturday, April 27 at the Beaver Brook Elementary School. Polls are open 8AM - 6PM. Early voting is available through April 26 during Town Hall business hours: Monday - Thursday from 8:30AM - 4:30PM and Friday 8:30AM - 12:30PM.


Abington's Health Department, which is comprised of three employees, is responsible for the protection, preservation, and promotion of the health and well-being of all Abington Residents.
Between Lindsay, our Public Health Nurse, Chris Schultz, Health Agent and Eddie Murphy, Assistant Health Coordinator ensure Abington restaurants, businesses, and homes are compliant with environmental and public health regulations, respond to environmental and health emergencies, manage Abington's trash and recycling program, and host vaccine and blood pressure clinics.


Abington Town Offices are closed on Monday, April 15, 2024, in recognition of the Patriots' Day Holiday.
Trash and recycling pick-up is delayed. Monday (4/15) routes will be collected on Tuesday, all other routes will be delayed one day.


As a friendly reminder, Abington residents' excise tax bills are due Thursday, April 11, 2024.

When you lease a vehicle, the leasing company is the technical owner (for excise purposes).
When you buy out the lease, you WILL get a bill in just your name (for the date of registration until the end of the calendar year), which you must pay.
The leasing company needs to file an abatement on the first bill; we refund them, and they refund you. For questions, contact the Assessor's office at 781-982-2107.


The Home Modification Loan Program, a state program made possible through a partnership between the Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission and the Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation, offers interest-free loans for home modifications to help individuals with disabilities and older adults live more independently.
